Jenny Moser is excited to be in her fourth year teaching Junior Kindergarten! She joined the Black Bear team upon moving to Chicago from her hometown of New Bremen, Ohio. While living in Ohio, she attended Miami University where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Special Education. Her student teaching placement found her in a kindergarten classroom in Mason, Ohio where she taught in an inclusive classroom. Here, Jenny learned a lot of great ideas for individualizing instruction. She also picked up some sign language which she is looking forward to incorporating into her Junior Kindergarten class this year here at Black Bear!
While part of the Black Bear team, Jenny has attended several training sessions that expanded her knowlegde base of children. She attended the Learning and the Brain conference in Boston (November 2008) and Washington D.C (May 2009), as well as the NAEYC conference in Chicago (February 2010). She has also had the opportunity to attend multiple training sessions, pertaining to child and school development, such as Breakthrough to Literacy training, Music and Theater for Preschoolers, and a Team Building training. These training sessions were held at Black Bear and presented by various staff members. In addition, she has completed two smart board training sessions.
