This program is for you if you are looking for classes that offer your typically developing child a variety of play-based activities in a classroom setting with a very small student to teacher ratio of 3:1 Preschoolers love the circle time, arts and crafts, songs, storytime and don't forget gym! We have classes that start at 18 months and continue until your child turns five.
Our classes are divided into two age groups: 18 to 30 months and 2.5 to 3.5 years of age and are offered five days per week. These classes are developmentally based but NOT therapeutic in nature and are taught by our staff with a variety of education backgrounds.
Lil' Guys - Classes for the 18 to 30 month old are intended to target normal language acquisition and those cognitive development skills appropriate to your child's age and developmental guidelines. Target areas include language skills, social interaction, sharing and fair play, creativity, manipulative play, teamwork, dramatic play and sensory development. Classes are limited to six children per class with a minimum teacher to student ratio of 1:3.
LE Classes for the 2.5 to 3.5 year age groups include the activities described above in addition to a greater emphasis on pre-kindergarten readiness. These classes include academic activities which address the "A, B, C's and 1. 2, 3's" required for pre-writing skills, symbol to sound phonemic awareness, pre-reading skills, numbers and quantity concepts, social development and cognitive learning skills.
Skills and Thrills - Skill specific, one hour classes for the 2.5 to 3.5 and 3.5 to 5.0 age group, offered in ten week sessions that address pre-k readiness requirements in both play-based activities and structured academic tasks. These ongoing supplemental courses include classes entitled "Letters and Sounds", "Numbers and Quantities" , "Share, Play Fair- Social Development through Games", "Pre-writing Skills"-(offered to older group only), and "Arts and Interests".
All classes facilitate developmental learning through play in a variety of multi-sensory opportunities. Activities enhance language skills and optimize learning, increasing the cognitive complexity of play through imaginitive and representational play, choosing toys that facilitate more complex developmental skills given age-based expectations, fine and gross motor skill enhancement via our gym equipment and communication styles that support your child's communication skills.
