Brittany Hendricks recently joined our Black Bear team in mid September. Brittany grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago where she attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School. Brittany attended college at Saint Xavier University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.During her time at SXU, Brittany was a member of the National Student Speech Hearing Language Association (NSSHLA) and she also participated in various fundraisers to raise money for Sertoma Speech and Hearing Center along with a host of other organizations. While completing her undergraduate degree at SXU, Brittany had the opportunity to work at the Ludden Speech Clinic where she worked with children and adults with autism, traumatic brain injury, Fragile X, and children with a variety of language disorders.She is currently working on her Master’s Degree at Saint Xavier University in Multi-categorical Special Education and because she is so passionate about children with special needs she will also be pursuing a second Master’s degree in Communication Disorders at Governor’s State University beginning in the fall of 2010.Brittany’s ultimate goal is to become a speech and language pathologist so that she can serve as many people as possible. She is ecstatic to be a part of the Black Bear team and is always eager to help the children, parents, and staff!!
