This is Lauren’s first year at Black Bear Academy! She is thrilled to be joining the BBA team. This summer she will begin co-teaching the 4s camp, and starting in the fall she is very excited to lead one of the JK classes.

In 2017 Lauren received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University with endorsements in the areas of social sciences, reading, and language arts. During her time at Illinois State, Lauren had the opportunity to work with children ages preschool through fifth grade. During her two semesters of student teaching, she was able to apply her three years of college coursework to the classroom, and always make learning fun for her students. Outside of her college coursework, Lauren worked as a camp counselor, daycare caregiver, and nanny. Lauren has also attended various professional development seminars discussing topics of technology in the classroom, autism, sensory needs in children, and more!
