Starting this new school year Ms. Francesca will be lead teaching our 3 hour 3’s classroom in the Academic Program at Black Bear Academy. She’s also excited to be teaching in the extended day class, enrichment programs and IKI! She was born and raised in Lincoln Park, Chicago. In 2013, she graduated from Miami University of Ohio, holding a Bachelor’s of Science in Special Education with an emphasis in Children in Families. In addition, she holds a teaching licensure as an Intervention Specialist. After graduating from Miami University, she started her teaching career abroad while serving in the United States Peace Corps from 2013-2015. There, she was placed in a small Sub-Saharan African village in the country of Malawi. She taught at the local school and helped to train teachers on Early Childhood Education and students with exceptional needs. After that, she taught at the British International School, South Loop for two years in a preschool classroom. Currently, she is seeking her Master’s in Education from National Louis University, and hopes to be done by this winter. She specializes in differentiated and individualized instruction and embraces all types of learners. Francesca has a passion and enthusiasm for working with younger children! She is thrilled to lead instruction and to incorporate different learning techniques into her classroom for literacy and mathematics. She hopes to push younger learners to their full potential while also incorporating super fun and enjoyable lessons for all!

In her free time, Ms. Francesca likes to do hot yoga, run on the lakeside and explore the city with friends and family! She always loves meeting new people and learning new things about the world!
